Biography
Andrea Zoppini was born in Rome on September 15, 1965. He graduated with honors in Law from Sapienza University of Rome in 1988. A qualified lawyer, he is Full Professor of Civil Law at Roma Tre University.
He furthered his academic training at some of the most prestigious universities in Europe and the United States. He studied at the University of Cambridge and Heidelberg University, and was a visiting scholar at Yale Law School and New York University School of Law.
From 1998 to 2001, he taught Comparative Private Law and Private Law Institutions at the University of Sassari.
Andrea Zoppini has extensive experience as a consultant both in the corporate and institutional sectors. He served as Undersecretary of State for Justice, legal advisor to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and consultant to the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Bank of Italy.
Alongside his academic and professional work, he is also active as a public commentator. He is a member of the editorial boards of Rivista di diritto civile and Rivista di diritto privato. For many years he has written on law and business for Il Sole 24 Ore.
